Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in an acute care setting. Responsible for delivering specialized patient care within a multi-care ICU unit, managing complex cases such as sepsis, respiratory issues, post-operative complications, and COVID-19. The role involves ensuring patient safety, monitoring vital signs, titrating drips, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts from 07:00 PM to 07:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Licensure to submit, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications; at least 2 years of ICU experience; experience with titrating drips such as sedation, vasopressors, and insulin.
- Preferred Qualifications: Strong skills in ICU patient management, experience with telemetry, and managing ventilated patients.
- Float: Float to our Emergency and Pediatric units to care for adult ICU, MST, and pediatric patients; float to West Campus in Prescott for ICU and PCU care, with a two-hour notice prior to floating.
- Additional Information: Critical care RN responsibilities include reading strips on bedside cardiac monitors, taking 12-lead EKGs, and supporting ventilated patients with equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP. Nurses will manage ratios based on acuity: ICU (1:2), PCU (1:4), MST (1:5-6). The unit maintains a rigorous orientation process and adheres to hospital policies on holidays and weekends, including rotating on-call standby and holiday coverage.
