Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in an organization providing specialized critical care services. The ICU RN is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients, following established care plans, and supervising ancillary staff. This role emphasizes patient safety, collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, and professional growth.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; Bachelors degree in Nursing or equivalent; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (if applicable); minimum of 0 years bedside clinical experience; completed at least 1 assignment with the current agency; ICU experience; no specific location requirement
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior ICU experience; familiarity with electronic medical records and critical care protocols
- Additional Information: Performs comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update individualized care plans. Responsible for accurate documentation of assessments and interventions. Participates in patient discharge planning and education. Provides supervision and direction to ancillary nursing personnel. Ensures a safe environment by adhering to safety policies and promoting a culture of safety.
- The organization emphasizes safety focused on a 10-foot circle of safety, including safe patient handling, infectious disease control, and slip/trip prevention.
- Assumes charge responsibility following orientation and actively pursues professional development through continuing education.
