Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in Durham, North Carolina. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a specialized critical care environment. The RN will be responsible for implementing and overseeing individualized care plans, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout their stay.
Job Details:
- Shift: Days
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Start Date: 08/31/2026
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are required prior to the first shift. A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired. No specific educational degrees or licensing requirements noted.
- Demonstrates competency in nursing assessments, patient care planning, documentation, patient education, and discharge planning.
- Responsible for supervising ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately, and contributing to team building.
- Maintains safety standards and adheres to hospital policies on personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
- Participates in continuing professional development and maintains effective communication with team members and management.
- Responsible for accurate, timely documentation and communication regarding patient status and care interventions.
- Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process, with a focus on patient safety, comfort, and education.
- Assumes charge responsibilities following orientation as requested.
