Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nursing position located in the Bay Area. The role involves providing high-quality patient care within a 24-bed ICU unit, working night shifts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing critically ill patients, performing complex procedures, and ensuring compliance with unit policies and standards.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; ICU experience preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Level 1 or 2 trauma experience; cardiovascular surgery experience.
- Unit Information:
- Location: Bay Area hospital
- Number of Beds: 24
- Staff: 50 members including Critical Care Nurses (CNC), registered nurses (RN), and support staff
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2
- Equipment: Ventilators, Swan-Ganz catheters, Impella devices, balloon pumps
- EMR: Typical electronic medical record system in use
- Patient Procedures: Intubation, central lines, bronchoscopy, external ventricular drains (EVDs), intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, Swan-Ganz catheter placements, bolt insertion
- Personality Fit: Excellent customer service skills are essential
- Additional Information:
- Weekend shifts every other weekend; may include on-call duties as needed for scheduled shifts
- Dress Code: Scrubs in royal blue
