Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Float Nurse position available in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized patient care within the ICU environment, supporting various units as needed, with responsibilities including titration of drips, reading rhythm strips, and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid licensure to practice as a registered nurse, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), and PALS (American Heart Association) certifications. A minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric ICU experience and familiarity with inpatient ICU patient care.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required, including coverage for ED, UC, and PACU units as needed.
  • Additional Information:
    • The role supports adult and pediatric patient populations with a variety of diagnoses, including cardiac, pulmonary, neuro, skin, GI, GU, orthopedic, sepsis, outpatient, and stable pediatric cases.
    • Nurses are required to titrate drips such as Heparin, insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, PCA fentanyl, Propofol, and Norepinephrine.
    • Tele rhythm strips are monitored off-site, but nurses must be capable of reading rhythm strips to report changes promptly.
    • The charge nurse also takes assignments.
    • The unit uses GE - ApexPro tele monitors.
    • CNAs are present with ratios of approximately 1:8-10 during days and nights, depending on staffing.
    • Equipment includes CPAP, BIPAP, Vapotherm, Servo U ventilators, and Hamilton ventilators, with RTs available 24/7.
    • Dressing code consists of navy scrubs for RNs and Ceil Blue scrubs for CNAs.
    • Orientation includes one day of computer-based training plus 1-2 days on-shift orientation.
    • Clinicians who previously worked with the healthcare provider must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission.
    • All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
