Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Float Nurse Nights with a healthcare provider in an acute care setting. This role involves providing patient care across various units including ICU, Emergency Department, Progressive Care Unit, and MedSurg, with a focus on critical patient management. The position requires flexibility to float between units, ensuring patient needs are met while adhering to unit-specific protocols.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM 7:30 AM; minimum of 36 hours per week, with potential for overtime based on needs.
- Required Qualifications: Active WA or Compact Nursing License, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale); minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; ability to take Swans, IABP, and Impella; capable of floating to MedSurg units; able to titrate drips including sedation, vasoactive medications, and paralytics.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with tele monitoring, reading telemetry strips, and managing a variety of patient diagnoses.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to cover ICU, ED, PCU, and MedSurg units based on staffing needs.
- Additional Information:
- Weekend schedule includes every other weekend or possibly every weekend.
- Holiday coverage required.
- No standby or call duty.
- Units use EPIC charting system.
- Scrubs or business casual attire acceptable; professional scrubs preferred.
- Orientation includes one onboarding day with the manager and two shifts with a float pool team member.
- Staffing notifications occur approximately 30-90 minutes prior to shift start.
- Emergency equipment such as ventilators, Cpap, BiPap, and telemonitoring are available on units.
