Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Emergency Department – Eureka, CA 95501
Start Date: September 8, 2026
Location: Eureka, California
Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (06:00 - 18:00), 91-day assignment. Weekend requirement of 3 out of 6 weekends. Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day). Patient ratio of 4:1. Daily emergency department volume of approximately 135 visits with 105 average daily census. 40 hours of orientation provided.

- Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) – care for all age groups from neonates to geriatrics
- Level 3 trauma center with 20 rooms and 26 beds
- Float coverage to Observation Unit for ER hold patients
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and lift teams
- Flexible scrub policy – wear your own scrubs with no prints
- First-time travelers accepted
Requirements:
- Active California state RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at submission; pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of emergency department nursing experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required; TNCC and ENPC preferred (TNCC must be obtained prior to start if not currently certified)
- Experience with emergency medications, trauma care, critical procedures, and managing diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in Epic charting system preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Must reside outside 50-mile local radius
