Job Description:
The RN (Registered Nurse) position in the ER is a critical role, responsible for providing nursing care to patients with various acute conditions. Nurses will work in a trauma level 1 setting with a patient ratio of 1:4 and must be experienced in managing multiple patient types, including trauma, burns, and cardiac patients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in a Trauma Level 1 Emergency Department.
- Manage patient care using Cerner EMR systems and Phillips telemetry monitors.
- Ensure competency in sterile field maintenance during procedures.
- Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter and central line dressing changes (specific campus requirements apply).
- Participate in floor-specific orientation and ongoing education on equipment and policy differences between facilities.
Requirements:
- At least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience.
- Valid RN license with willingness to wait for license submission processing.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- Proficiency in reading telemetry strips from Phillips monitors.
- Must adhere to hospital policies regarding personal appearance and conduct during shifts.
