Job Summary:
An endoscopy laboratory located in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in endoscopic procedures. The role involves providing care during gastrointestinal and bronchoscopic interventions, including administration of sedation and post-procedure recovery. The RN will be an integral part of a multispecialty team, managing patient care throughout various stages in a busy clinical setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shifts, 8 hours, rotating start times between 6:30 am and 10:30 am; minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license; two years of recent acute care experience within the last three years in the relevant specialty; American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Epic electronic health record experience; experience with GI and pulmonary sedated procedures such as ERCP, EUS, EGD, colonoscopy, and bronchoscopy. Credentialing for practicing in the state of Wisconsin (WI RN license or compact RN license); successful passing of telemetry assessment prior to start.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in trauma level I or similar sizing hospital; community hospital experience; able to perform moderate sedation with RN-driven assessment approach.
- Additional Information: The role involves managing patients in all care levels including post-anesthesia recovery, utilizing an RN-driven sedation assessment approach. Candidates must pass a telemetry test with a strict passing score, with two attempts allowed. The assignment begins on 09/14/2026. Certification in ACLS and BLS is required. The facility is a Magnet-designated hospital, ranked as Wisconsin's leading hospital, and located at 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792. Travelers are required to float as needed and must meet local rule criteria (50 miles from the facility). Parking permit required through UW Transportation.
