Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) registered nurses in Bakersfield, California, provide critical clinical care to acutely ill patients in a fast-paced environment. These positions involve independently assessing patient conditions, collaborating with the healthcare team, and implementing evidence-based nursing interventions to promote patient recovery and safety.
Job Details:
- Schedule: (2) Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or associate degree from an accredited registered nursing program; Valid and unrestricted State of California Registered Nurse License (RN License); Minimum of 3 years of ER nursing experience; NIHSS certification; Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Knowledge of advanced nursing practices, medical terminology, medication effects, and infection control protocols
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in California ER settings; Strong critical thinking and nursing judgment skills; Ability to coordinate patient care effectively
- Additional Information: The role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent patient assessment skills, and the ability to respond rapidly to changing patient needs. All candidates must maintain current health requirements as designated by Kern Medical Center and possess specific certificates of competency if required by the assignment.
