Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position located in Tupelo, Mississippi. The role involves providing acute care in a high-volume, Level 2 trauma, teaching facility with a focus on trauma, cardiac, stroke, COPD, asthma, RSV, abdominal pain, and other critical conditions. The position requires flexibility, with scheduled shifts during evenings, and includes responsibilities such as managing critical care drips, starting IVs, ventilator management, arterial lines, central lines, and more.
Job Details
- Schedule: Evening shifts; 12 hours per shift; minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current Mississippi license; at least 2 years recent Emergency Room experience; prior travel experience; BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certifications; fingerprinting process must begin within 48 hours of offer acceptance; must not have worked perm or per diem for the healthcare provider within the last 12 months; Must be able to work 12/24 or 12/25 and 12/31 or 1/1; full availability and flexibility with scheduling; critical care skills including drips management, starting IVs, ventilator management, arterial and central line management, lab draws, blood cultures, intubations, and EKG interpretation.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Level 2 trauma centers, large hospitals (400+ beds), and previous critical care roles.
- Additional Information: All travelers are required to float to units within their competencies. Patient ratio of 1:4, or 1:6 if holds are waiting for inpatient beds. Scrubs are navy blue (not provided). No on-call required. Weekend and holiday shifts are expected. EMR systems used include Wellsoft and SCM. Fingerprinting must commence within 48 hours of offer. Must pass an EKG/Dysrhythmia competency verification. No block scheduling or self-scheduling. No prior employment for the healthcare provider within the last 12 months.
