Emergency Room Nurse in Michigan. This position involves providing acute care in a fast-paced ER environment, working 12-hour night shifts. The role requires coordination with medical staff and adherence to facility protocols to deliver high-quality patient care.
Job Details
- Shift: Nights; 12-hour shifts starting at 3pm or 7pm with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid Michigan Nursing License, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), PALS (American Heart Association), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), at least 2 years of ER experience
- Preferred Qualifications: None listed
- Floating: Inpatient float staff for assisting with coverage as needed
- Additional Information:
- Unit features 14 beds with 2 trauma bays, Fast Track with 3 designated rooms, and a separate triage area with 2 triage rooms
- Patient volume averages 40-60 patients daily, including traumas, STEMI, strokes, MVAs, and other variable diagnoses
- Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:3-4 during the day and 1:2-3 at night after 11 pm
- In-house emergency department staff includes physicians and mid-level providers 24/7, alongside RTs, phlebotomists, and various support staff
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required; Michigan license must be active
- Scheduling is managed by the facility, with efforts to rotate start times and allow self-scheduling if applicable
- Every other weekend work required; 2 out of 3 holidays during winter and occasional during the contract, volunteer call or standby may be needed
- Proper scrubs in solid, professional colors are mandated; orientation includes computer-based training, department-specific policies, and floor training
- Clinicians with previous employment at this facility must have ended employment at least 6 months prior to submission
