Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Spokane Valley, WA. This position involves providing acute care in a Level 3 Trauma Center with 21 beds, serving diverse patient populations including geriatric, pediatric, and adult patients. The role requires delivering compassionate, efficient care in a fast-paced environment, utilizing skills in conscious sedation, chest tube management, and central lines, within a supportive team setting.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with a schedule cycle of 6 weeks; shifts include 12-hour nights.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI or MOAB, NIHSS certifications; active licensure; minimum 2 years of emergency nursing experience; located within the specified state.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in specialty; experience with EPIC electronic medical record; ability to perform peripheral sticks; phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Support on the Unit: ER techs with phlebotomy license, 24/7 availability; lab services available 24/7; resource and critical care float nurses; no designated department nurse, but department floats support staff as needed.
  • Technology/Equipment: Proficient with EPIC EMR; IV pumps (Alaris); Pyxis medication dispensing system; bedside and nurse station telemetry monitoring.
  • Orientation: One week comprehensive training including skills checkoff, site orientation, position-specific precepted shifts.
  • Additional Information: Scrub color is flexible; free parking available. No on-call requirements; holiday coverage expected once per contract; approved time off (RTO) up to 7 days.
