Job Summary
Emergency Room Nurse Madison, WI. This role involves providing high-acuity emergency care for adult and pediatric populations within a Level I Trauma Center. The position entails working night shifts, including weekends and holidays, supporting a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires advanced clinical skills and patient management.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, Wisconsin RN or Compact RN license, two years of recent Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last three years, BLS, PALS, ACLS (American Heart Association) certifications, TNCC certification, Epic experience, and pass Telemetry testing prior to start.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge nurse experience, trauma level II or higher experience, inpatient RN experience of at least two years, and familiarity with inpatient patient ratios.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must successfully pass a telemetry interpretation exam with two attempts, including identification of lethal rhythms and heart blocks, maintaining an 80% passing score. A certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course may be required if the exam is not passed within the allowed attempts. The position supports a high patient census, high acuity care, and advanced procedures such as arterial line management, intubation, and trauma procedures.
