Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to Emergency Department patients across a variety of acuity levels.
  • Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and collect relevant health data.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications, therapies, and treatments according to established standards.
  • Perform delegated medical functions within scope of practice.
  • Monitor patient response to treatments and promptly identify changes in condition.
  • Provide patient and family education, health teaching, and counseling.
  • Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Refer patients for additional evaluation or treatment when appropriate.
  • Monitor and update treatment plans as patient conditions change.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize available clinical resources effectively to support safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Float to other departments within competency and qualifications when operationally required.
  • May participate in on-call coverage during regularly scheduled shifts as needed.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
  • Recent Emergency Department/ED nursing experience
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ASN required
  • Active Colorado RN license or Compact RN license
  • BLS – American Heart Association
  • ACLS – American Heart Association
  • PALS – American Heart Association
  • TNCC
  • ENPC
  • NIHSS
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume emergency environment
  • Flexibility to work variable mid/night shifts, including weekends


Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a skilled ED RN who is comfortable caring for diverse patient populations, prioritizing multiple patients, responding quickly to changing conditions, and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
