Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• At least 1 year of experience in cardiac telemetry, progressive care (PCU), or ICU nursing
• Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
• Experience with post-cardiac procedural care, including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op open heart care, and permanent pacemaker placements
• Experience titrating IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced acute care environment
• Willingness to float based on demonstrated competency

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to telemetry patients with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, assess changes in patient condition, and respond appropriately to clinical needs
• Administer and titrate IV medications safely and effectively
• Support post-procedural cardiac patients and assist with a variety of unit procedures
• Perform IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemaker support, and Foley insertions as needed
• Document care accurately using Meditech
• Collaborate with charge nurses, unit secretaries, and PCTs to support smooth daily operations
• Deliver courteous, respectful, patient-centered care that aligns with patient experience goals
• Maintain a professional appearance in required navy blue scrubs
