RN – CVICU / Cardiovascular ICU position.
Specialty: ICU – CVICU / Cardiovascular ICU
Shift: Nights – 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Schedule: 3x12s
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week
Contract: 13 weeks
Unit: 20-bed CVICU
Trauma Level: Level I
EMR: EPIC
Weekend: Every other weekend
Holiday: Every other holiday
Floating: Yes – may float to all levels of care
Scrubs: No specific color; clinician provides own
Patient Population
- Post-CABG and valve surgery patients
- Aortic dissections and AAA
- Vascular/carotid procedures
- STEMI, NSTEMI and unstable angina
- Cardiogenic shock and severe heart failure
- TAVR patients
- Cardiomyopathy
- Ventilated patients
- Cardiac-related ICU admissions
- Targeted Temperature Management
Required/Preferred Skills
- 2+ years of solid CVICU experience required
- Strong ICU travel experience preferred
- Must be able to independently manage high-acuity cardiovascular patients
- Drip titration experience required
- Telemetry/strip interpretation required
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Ventilator, CPAP, BiPAP and high-flow experience
- Experience with:
- IABP
- Impella
- Swan-Ganz
- ECMO
- CRRT
- Arterial lines
- Central lines
- Temporary pacemakers
- PICC/Midlines
Certifications
- BLS (AHA) required
- ACLS preferred
- CCRN preferred
