Position Overview

Step into a rewarding Cardiac Cath Lab RN opportunity in Grand Junction, Colorado, supporting a specialized cardiovascular team in a fast-paced procedural environment. This assignment is ideal for an experienced Cath Lab nurse who is confident with cardiac catheterization procedures, PCI circulation, STEMI cases, and advanced hemodynamic support equipment.

You'll work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team while caring for patients undergoing complex cardiac procedures and contributing to high-quality, patient-centered outcomes.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the cardiac catheterization process.
  • Circulate cardiac catheterization and PCI procedures, including emergent STEMI cases.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
  • Administer medications and execute delegated medical functions within scope of practice.
  • Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes during procedures.
  • Operate/support equipment including Impella and IABP.
  • Perform ongoing collection and assessment of patient health data.
  • Provide patient education, health teaching, and emotional support.
  • Monitor treatment and therapy plans and communicate changes to the care team.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.
  • Coordinate referrals and additional treatment when clinically indicated.
  • Utilize available clinical resources to support safe and effective patient care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, technicians, and other members of the cardiovascular team.
  • Maintain compliance with nursing standards, policies, and professional practice requirements.
     

Schedule & Call Requirements

  • 4x10-hour Day Shifts
  • 40 hours per week
  • Weekend coverage required
  • Shared on-call responsibilities for nights, weekends, and holidays
  • 30-minute response time required when on call
  • May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications.
  • May be placed on call during a regularly scheduled shift based on department needs.
     

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience
  • Demonstrated experience as a Cath Lab Circulator
  • Experience circulating PCI and STEMI procedures
  • Experience with Impella and IABP
  • Strong medication administration and procedural nursing skills
  • Current RN license in the state of practice or a Compact RN license
  • BLS – American Heart Association
  • ACLS – American Heart Association
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and teamwork skills

BSN and additional specialty certifications are preferred.
