Job Summary:
The profession is Registered Nurse (RN) in the specialty of Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular, located in Rockford, Illinois. This position involves providing advanced patient care within ICU units, including cardiac, stroke neuro, step-down ICU, and ICU settings. Candidates must have ICU experience with extensive cardiac expertise and be prepared to float to Medical Surgical units as needed. The role requires current licensure, CPR, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois nursing license, CPR certification, ACLS certification, NIHSS certification, graduate of an accredited nursing program, 3 years of experience in ICU, and willingness to float to medical-surgical units
  • Preferred Qualifications: Extensive cardiac experience
  • Additional Information: Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in patient care. Administers medications and treatments following established policies and standards. Develops individualized care plans in line with physician directives and hospital policies. Participates in department performance improvement activities, including shared governance. Uses clinical expertise to support patient care across units, applying critical thinking to ensure patient safety and quality of experience. Escalation protocol adherence is required in clinical decision-making.
