Job Summary:
The Cardiac Cath Lab RN in an acute care setting is responsible for providing specialized nursing care in the catheterization laboratory. This role involves circulating, sedating, and documenting procedures for diagnostic and interventional cardiac cases, including left and right heart catheterizations, PCI, and other vascular procedures. The position requires working in a fast-paced environment with rotating 12-hour shifts and rotating call responsibilities.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts with rotating call up to seven days per 4-week schedule. Call comprises one week per schedule, from Monday 7 AM to the following Monday at 7 AM, including weekend and holiday rotations.
- Required Qualifications: ACLS and BLS Certifications; minimum of 1 year of prior Cath Lab or Radiologic Technologist experience; candidates must hold valid licenses to submit applications.
- Preferred Qualifications: EKOS experience is preferred but can be trained on-site.
- Additional Information: The role involves working in the Cath Pre/Post Recovery area with responsibilities including sedating, circulating, and documentation. Certification in AKLS (American Red Cross Life Support) is necessary. Orientation includes general hospital, nursing, and computer training, with up to one week or 36 hours of specific department onboarding.
- Float: No float rotation required. Extra hours may be available for experienced staff to work in other units.
- Charting System: EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Trauma Level: Care setting is acute.
