Registered Nurse - Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Schedule
36 or 48 hours/week, rotating day, evening, and night shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call as per unit needs.
Job Description
We are seeking a passionate Registered Nurse to join our team in a child and adolescent unit for patients aged 5-18 years experiencing an acute mental health crisis. The unit is dedicated to stabilization through a variety of group offerings, including Activities Therapy, Mindfulness, Wellness, and Coping Skills groups, in addition to psychopharmacological interventions. RNs will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve patient goals and deliver safe, effective, and therapeutic care.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and goals.
- Implement and facilitate therapeutic group sessions focused on stabilization and coping strategies.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current NYS Registered Nurse License.
- Minimum of 2 years of pediatric mental health experience.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
