Travel Med/Surg RN – Quick Highlights
- Specialty: Med/Surg RN
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours/week
- Shift: 12-hour shifts – 6:45 AM–7:15 PM / 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
- Experience: 2+ years specialty experience required
- Travel Experience: 1 completed travel assignment required
- Facility Experience: Must have experience in a larger, high-acuity, fast-paced hospital; no Critical Access Hospital experience alone
- Unit: 14 beds
- Patient Ratio: 1:6 days & nights
- Required Certifications: BLS & NIHSS
- Preferred: ACLS
- Patient Population: Diabetic patients, CHF, COPD, GI bleeds, renal failure, dialysis, post-surgical overflow, amputations, wound care, DVTs, ETOH and psych
- Drips/Medications: Lasix, Bumex, Heparin
- Telemetry: Monitored remotely; RNs do not need to interpret strips
- Respiratory: CPAP; BiPAP primarily at night
- Weekend: Every other weekend
- Floating: May float to acute care/cardio units or areas caring for acute-care holds
- Orientation: 3 days
- Scrubs: Caribbean Blue, or White top with Caribbean Blue bottoms, or all White
