Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Juvenile Detention Center
Location: Hertford, NC
Setting: Prison
Pay Range: 2067.20 - 2170.56
Schedule: 7:00am - 3:30pm (Monday–Friday)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Candidate Type: Traveler
Requirements: Experience in adolescent, pediatric, school, public health, correctional/juvenile, and/or emergency nursing; significant independence; comfortable working within a secure juvenile justice environment; comfortable serving as the sole on-site nurse for portions of the shift; ability to follow established medical protocols; familiarity with Microsoft Teams or WebEx; basic computer proficiency
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care within a secure juvenile justice environment, following established medical protocols
- Function independently as the facility’s on-site nurse for portions of the shift while coordinating with available support resources
- Collaborate closely with direct care staff to support safe, effective care for juveniles in custody
- Communicate clearly with Central Office Health Services staff and participate in scheduled calls as needed
- Document and coordinate care using basic computer systems and communication tools such as Microsoft Teams or WebEx
